Established over 45 years ago, this company has built up a reputation for the design and manufacture of specialist vehicles for the country’s leading customers and beyond.


It is due to their continuing expansion that they are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical/Design Engineers with a minimum of 4 years of experience who want to take the next step in their career and further progress up the ladder.
In this role the successful candidate will work as part of a team to produce designs for the in-house manufacturing plant. This role will require you to have a Mechanical/design knowledge as well as experience in using CAD software. You will be given full product training to ensure you are familiar with the range of unique products.
The Role:

  • Working as part of an expanding team
  • Working on a range of light to heavy duty commercial vehicle projects
  • Identifying customer requirements/ specifications, reproducing these into concept designs
  • Design of assemblies in 2D/3D ranging from full assembly down to individual parts
  • Creation of BOM
  • Liaising with the production on day to day basis
  • Full product cycle experience from design through to manufacturing

The Person:

  • Experienced with AUTOCAD 2D and INVENTOR 3D package
  • Will be able to create 2D and 3D drawings
  • Experienced in designing light/medium sheet metal parts
  • Experienced in designing machined parts
  • Experienced in the design of light to heavy metal fabrications
  • Self-motivated, ideally from a small team background
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge (not essential)
  • Experienced in compiling bills of Materials and liaising with the procurement department
  • 'Right first time' approach in his work
  • Computer literate (excel, word, power-point)

Salary rate is competitive and negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
